The Proxxi Voltage App for Android allows users to recover wristbands that have become temporarily non-functional
Only available in the Proxxi Voltage App for Android, v2.8.25 and higher.
Our Android Wearer App now has a Recovery Mode that allows users to recover wristbands that have become temporarily non-functional.
Recovery Mode is not available on iOS
If you do not have an Android device personally, we recommend borrowing one to complete recovery.
Recovery Mode can be accessed without logging in; once recovery has been completed on the Android device, an iOS device can be used for all future interaction.
Wristbands can become non-functional if they experience an error or if they are disconnected from the mobile app during a firmware update.
This recovery process will both recover your wristband and complete any available firmware updates.
Before starting the recovery process, complete these steps:
-
Fully close your Proxxi Voltage App (swipe up from the app-switcher screen)
-
Put the wristband onto your wrist
-
Double tap the wristband a few times (like you would with tap to mute)
-
Take the wristband off and put it on charge for 15 minutes
-
Re-open the app and try to connect to the Wearer App
Recovery Mode can be accessed from the Support Menu, and is an available option during login (before pairing with the wristband), or after login (while disconnected from the wristband).
If you are currently paired to a wristband, first navigate to the “Wristband” tab (bottom left tab), and select “Disconnect Wristband”.
Accessing Recovery Mode During Login:
During login, proceed to the “Select Wristband” screen. Once you reach this screen, select the “Refresh” button 4 times.
After the 4th time, a “?” button will appear in the top right corner of the popup. Recovery Mode is the 3rd option available in this menu.
Accessing Recovery Mode After Login:
While unpaired and on the “No Wristband Connected” screen, select the “?” button in the top right corner.
Recovery Mode is the 3rd option available in this menu.
Once you have selected “Recovery Mode” from the Support menu, your app will provide prompts to begin the recovery process.
Once confirmed, it will scan for any nearby wristbands that are in need of recovery. In order to be recovered, wristbands must be within Bluetooth range (which is approximately 30ft or 10m), powered on, and not connected to any other devices.
The app will recover all nearby wristbands that are in need of recovery in a single session. Each wristband will be recovered, one at a time, until recovery has been attempted for all wristbands.
The recovery process will not cause harm to other wristbands; any nearby wristbands that are not in need of recovery will not be impacted in any way.
During recovery, you must maintain Bluetooth connection with the wristband(s) that is/are being recovered.
Make sure that the app stays open, you phone’s internet and Bluetooth are kept on, that the wristbands stay within Bluetooth range, and that the wristbands are not powered off.
You will receive confirmation from the app once the recovery process is complete. At this time the recovered wristband(s) will reboot.
Once it has rebooted, wristband(s) will be available for connection.
If a wristband is unable to be recovered, this is likely due to the wristband having become disconnected during the recovery process.
Recovery can be attempted again by following the same steps.
