In firmware version 23.021 and previous, there is a known bug which is triggered during firmware updates
If you have encountered this known bug, you will be able to rectify the issue by following these steps in order:

Fully close your app (swipe up from the app-switcher screen)

Put the wristband onto your wrist

Double tap the wristband a few times (like you would with tap to mute)

Take the wristband off and put it on charge for 15 minutes

Re-open the app and try to connect
If you are able to successfully connect after the above, you will still need to complete your firmware update.
If you are still unable to connect, you will need to use the Proxxi Voltage App on an Android device to recover the wristband by following these steps.
