# Known bug: firmware update crash

## In firmware version 23.021 and previous, there is a known bug which is triggered during firmware updates

If you have encountered this known bug, you will be able to rectify the issue by following these steps in order:

1. Fully close your app (swipe up from the app-switcher screen)
2. Put the wristband onto your wrist
3. Double tap the wristband a few times (like you would with tap to mute)
4. Take the wristband off and put it on charge for 15 minutes
5. Re-open the app and try to connect

If you are able to successfully connect after the above, you will still need to complete your firmware update.

**If you are still unable to connect**, you will need to use the Proxxi Voltage App on an Android device to recover the wristband [by following these steps](https://support.proxxi.co/recovery-mode).
